ESSNC ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our service.

2. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Email address (for authentication)
  • Profile information (name, bio, essence tags)
  • Video content (for Soulprint profiles)
  • Messages and interactions with other users
  • Peer verifications (Runes) given and received

Information Collected Automatically

  • Device information (browser type, operating system)
  • Usage data (features used, time spent)
  • Location data (when using Radar feature, with your permission)

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and maintain the Service
  • Authenticate your identity
  • Match you with other users (The Throw feature)
  • Display your profile to other users (when you activate Radar)
  • Facilitate peer verifications
  • Enable safety features (location sharing during meetups)
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions
  • Send service-related communications
  • Improve and optimize the Service

4. Location Data

ESSNC uses location data for two primary features:

  • Radar: When you activate a Beacon, your approximate location is visible to other nearby users for discovery. Your precise location is never shared.
  • Safety Circle: You can optionally share your live location with verified friends during planned meetups. This feature is opt-in and time-limited.

You can revoke location permissions at any time through your device settings.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:

  • Other users (profile information, as you choose to share)
  • Service providers (hosting, payment processing, email delivery)
  • Legal authorities (when required by law)

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:

  • Encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest
  • End-to-end encryption for messages
  • Regular security audits
  • Access controls and authentication

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Some data may be retained longer for legal compliance or legitimate business purposes.

Messages in The Bridge decay over time (30 days without contact), and are permanently deleted after disconnection.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of your data
  • Rectification: Correct inaccurate data
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your account and data
  • Portability: Receive your data in a portable format
  • Objection: Object to certain processing activities

9. Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Upon deletion:

  • Your profile is immediately removed from the platform
  • Your data is permanently deleted within 30 days
  • Runes you've given remain with recipients (anonymized)
  • Users you've invited retain their accounts

10. Children's Privacy

ESSNC is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18.

11. International Users

Your data may be processed in countries outside your own. By using ESSNC, you consent to the transfer of your information to these countries, which may have different data protection laws.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification.
